Rejuvenating !

All the while I couldn't find time or anything worth sharing now that I have here it goes. After being married, having a hyper active toddler and being a sit at home it definitely takes a toll on your mental health. After self analysis I could see myself as a whole different person for what I was and what I had become, there wasn't any positive change that took place in me except for the level of patience that I dealt with my kid. While all this going on I could fortunately meet my parents after months and spend some time with them. Like all the good things had to happen together I could meet the good old friends. With technology we were in touch but meeting in person is something which cannot be replaced by any technology to my knowledge. Meeting these people who have seen you grow do help you be sane, happy and contented in life. Not that they'd be doing or saying anything out of the ordinary but it is their company that helps you be your own self. It was like I had missed being this person that once I was. Even the friends I couldn't meet are happy to know that I'm in the place where "we" had a great time while getting prepared to live our future. Missed meeting the ones not around. Wish everyone gets to have real friends for life, it's with them that you never change and live the carefree youth all over be it for few minutes or hours

Festive days

The second third week of January can be said as the festive days of Indian calendar, as Lohri, Bhogi, Makar Sankranti, Pongal are celebrated all over the country. The days when friends and families come together and share happiness and to add flavor to these auspicious days various delicacies are prepared and shared. If one has to realize the importance of having friends and relatives one should stay alone and just imagine the happenings at different places. But I think like one can enjoy being at all the places at a same time.. Power of Imagination. Happy Lohri, Makar Sankranti, bhogi and Happy Pongal.. :)

Random Thoughts

A year has passed...
(Random thoughts).
In one year life could change so much never really thought. A year back feels like yesterday. In a less than a year got promoted from a daughter to daughter-in-law, so many new relations with responsibilities attached along. (its a whole diff thing whether I have become responsible or not ;) ).
The reason to write this post is nothing great, just miss my old days.

Life really changes!

I too strongly believed that life changes but you don't, at least not for your dear ones. A close friend did warn me but I only disagreed then and now understand what she actually meant.

I have really great friends and a great family, thank you for being there always. :)

The Super Bike

I have come to my native place, just another visit for a couple of days… Was just doing a little work this morning and got a call from my maternal grand mom asking about a fast that most of us have for a week. Here fasting doesn’t mean totally fast without eating anyhtin and all, you can consume few selected fruits, milk and milk products and tapioca … well I don’t fast most of the times cos I don’t believe in a fast where you are allowed to eat… So the point why she had called is that she wanted to give some fresh tapioca for the fasting members of my family, and suggested me to collect as no one else was free. Her place is just few kilometers away from ours.
I was to go by a TVS 50 Excel, the vehicle of real India I would say. Ya, from Honda Activa to TVS 50 Excel, but I din mind as I got to roam out a little plus a quick visit to granny’s place. All this in a typical Indian village, to reach my granny’s place I had to cross 2 villages n the third village was my granny’s…
It was a fun ride I must say.. I was accompanied by my house maid, travelling alone in villages is considered unsafe. Before starting we checked the petrol and found it to be less, but dad n I thought I can reach there but returning would be a problem. And planned will ask uncle to get petrol from a nearby place there..
One kick and the TVS was all zzzrrr zrrr… As we crossed people all the heads turned in our direction and were AWWWW… LOL.. One girl was almost about to fall while walking, she hit a stone as she was busy seeing a girl (of course me) riding a vehicle.. Another woman stood up in shock and few more such crazy incidents.
When we were in between the first and second village I felt the Super bike jerk a little, and felt something coming and in next moment the zzzrrrr sound subsided completely as the bike was hungry and there was no food for it.. Am thankful to the technology, immediately called up my uncle and said where we were and what happened. And there came one person my maid knew, he suggested we tilt the vehicle complete and we can drive for another one kilometer for sure, we tilted it completely but no use, we couldn’t hear the zzzrr.. When the maid asked him how far the next village was, he said “it’s quite near; you can reach there in no time”. And we decided to push till the village, mainly cos we were little scared of the isolated place we were stuck in, so we pushed pushed and pushed the super bike but couldn’t find the village. Then came a upward slope, the thought of pushing the vehicle upward was so tiring but we hardly had a choice n stood for few mins starring at it and again kept going… after one point when I couldn’t push any further nor could find the village, I stopped and called up my uncle to find that my uncle forgot his mobile home. Now, we thought whatever we’ll wait. And I saw my uncle coming; he looked like a God who had come to save us.
He filled the petrol and he said he had to get oil for the vehicle and it took time for him to reach. Happily started the vehicle and zzzrrrr zzzrrr reached there. Like a girl shouldn't travel alone, females shouldn't be roaming around in the dark so all we did was packed the sweet potatoes and few vegetables and headed back home. All the time I was there my aunt and granny kept saying you should have come earlier. As the sun was setting the zzrrrr zrrr got louder and we reached home before dark.. Wow, what a day and what a ride… Now, I think it is one of the ways God wanted to punish me for not fasting, :P. God,I will fast someday but sincerely.

My Sweetheart

Diwali, a festival of lights, joy and happiness. For the past few years I never really enjoyed this festival nor did most of my friends, part of growing up i guess. And so I thought I'l celebrate this diwali, though nothing big atleast something to cherish about, and my sis-in-law and me planned to have a really beautiful rangoli in the entrance of the house.
Both of us had selected a simple yet beautiful design, we got lots of color powders so we could make our rangoli look more attractive. We stay on the first floor but thought we'l have our rangoli in front of the gate but unfortunately it was raining so we dropped the idea of designing it there and ultimately decided to have it in front of the door.
We started our rangoli on the eve of diwali, so it'l be there from the start of the day. With the day's work sis-in-law was all tired and I wasn't feeling well, so our enthu had almost gone but still we wanted the rangoli. Somehow managed to do something with the colors and proudly called it as "our rangoli" (we anyways knew how bad it was).
Here came diwali, we welcomed our friends and relatives and were busy serving and having sweets. And came my niece (2-1/2 yrs old), happy and excited and showed her new dress (She looked cutteee). I took the broom to clean the room where bits of papers had fallen and left it as got involved in chatting with an aunt and saw my niece take the broom which was longer than her height. I felt like a proud aunt to see her cute niece doing some work. And in no time I hear my mom call me. When i went out, my sweetheart was very nicely cleaning my rangoli off. Had mixed feelings, of shock, anger, helplessness, cry and a voice that said "how sweet". When I asked her "what are you doing?" she replied with a lil fear in her voice "Am cleaning the place". Who cannot love her for that... My sweetheart had again won my heart.. :)

A Walk to remember

After a gap of few days, my friend (cum cousin) and I went for a morning walk (not that we go walking everyday). The last time when we went for walking we had found a new park opened nearby, well not very near but still. Both of us started walking from our house, and headed towards the park. And that is where the fun or should I say the early morning tragedy started??
Right when we were opening the gate, we saw a young girl walking very slowly, with her mobile and headphones, clearly giving an image as though she was enjoying some music n walking. The moment my friend saw her, she said this girl reminds me of a particular girl at least from the way she is behaving. A small discussion followed about it.

We were still walking in the park and I happened to see a young boy jogging and coming towards the park. I told my friend, look at him how sincerely he is jogging. That’s when she said me that he is one of our very very far relatives. (I had never seen him before, and she had never spoken to him). She said how he is related. Well we got one more topic to discuss about. ;)
At one point the girl was walking in the opposite direction of ours, fiddling her mobile. And my friend said what is this girl doing? (A tone that meant has she come for walking or to fiddle her mobile). And my crooked mind said “I think this guy and girl actually have come to meet”, as I just started to say this to my friend she said I know what you are going to say, she had read my mind. ;) little chuckling and giggling.

After sometime we happened to see the guy walking near her and talking something both smiled and he crossed her in no time. This was enough to confirm what I thought. But pitiful both did not talk cos we were there, relative of the guy. It was obvious, he had the fear that the story might spread like fire among other relatives.
God knows if they were just good friends or there was anything more, but somehow our presence had spoilt their day by giving a bad start for their day. In sometime he left first and in few mins she left after him. And after some more time we left discussing about whether to come to the same place tomorrow or let the two meet peacefully. I somehow cannot forget the day’s walk. “A Walk To Remember”.

The Hapoos

The Alphonso, a type of mango and is called as "Hapoos" in Marathi. Its one of the best types of mangoes that I have ever tasted. Today evening I don't know why I remembered about these mangoes. ;)

These mangoes don't only remind about its sweetest taste but about the long summer vacations.
As a kid I and my cousins were really lucky rather blessed I would say.. We had our own mango trees and summer was the mango season. My grandfather and uncle used to store the mangoes in a room.. yes yes in a room... As soon as one enters the room... wow what a fragrance... The sweet smell of the mango.. All one would do is hunt for best mango among the hundreds spread around.. Search for the biggest yellow mango and pick it up before anyone else picks it.. and first thing you do is squeeze a little and bite them off directly... So much of juicy pulp in it.. The very thought is so mouth watering.
The best thing of these hapoos is that we could have it raw with salt also.

Miss those days... The fun we used to have in plucking mangoes from tree and wiping them a little(just for the sake of doing it) and consume them right away. Nowadays, I do get such mangoes but not that fresh and sweet :(
And the trees have become very old and you can hardly find a mango on it. None the less at my granny's place (maternal)we get the Kalmbi Mangoes (I don't know the English name), they also have their own unique sweet taste.. Be it any Mango it definitely rules the heart and so is always said as "the King of Fruits" :) :)
